After a decade-long career as an actor, Amos refocused his passion for storytelling to be of service to individuals, couples, and families on their quest to reconcile relationships and explore identity. As a trained couples and family therapist, Amos believes that our reality is constructed by past, present, and future relationships. He believes that guided introspection leading to actionable connections is a tonic in an increasingly isolating, and volatile world. <\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>

Amos will strive to meet you as you are, meaningfully deconstruct aspects of your life which may be constricting your potential, while celebrating your unique strengths.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>

A native New Yorker, Amos grew up in an artistic household in the Hudson Valley, where play was encouraged as a means of expression and exploration. From an early age the theatre was a space for him to channel his energy, hone his talents, and most importantly, feel embraced by a community of likeminded folks. He discovered yoga and meditation as a teenager to help balance the high-intensity training in the performing arts and has consistently returned to this practice throughout his life to maintain equilibrium.<\/p>\n<\/div>

Kingfisher Marriage and Family Therapy was founded by Amos in 2021 in order to provide quality care to queer and allied communities, and to mentor a next generation of intersectional systemic thinkers.<\/b><\/p>\n<\/div>

Amos is a graduate of The University of Michigan and received his Masters of Science in Marriage and Family Therapy where he now is a member of the adjunct faculty. He is a trained Vinyasa yoga teacher and has studied trauma informed yoga training in 2018. Amos was involved in the New York Marriage and Family Therapy Network (NYMFTN) from 2018-2022, leading major initiatives to increase diversity, equity, and inclusivity. He is currently a member of the Steering Committee at The Institute for Human Identity, the nation\u2019s first and longest running provider of LGBTQ+- affirming therapy.<\/p>\n

Amos lives in New Jersey with his husband, their adoptive children, and dog HattieMae. For pleasure, Amos enjoys cooking, hiking in nature, and exploring all of the rich cultural variety New York City has to offer.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>
